Getting to know VOLT

VOLT CPI was established as a division of its parent company, Oakley TFM Ltd, as an additional service offered to clients looking for electric vehicle charge point installation. Offering home and workplace charging, VOLT’s installation services cover Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, and Oxfordshire.

VOLT’s vision

VOLT approached us to redesign their old website, wanting to bring it up-to-date with the latest features in interface design. They specifically wanted a bold, bright, and eye-catching site that set them apart from their competitors. They felt their current website was looking a little old and tired and thus, wanted to increase brand awareness with a striking new website.

Phase 1: Brand and website overhaul

After reviewing their current website, we recommended a revamp of their logo and colour palette to ensure that their branding matched the proposed new look and feel of their new website.

Identifying what was important to VOLT in terms of what they wanted their website to achieve, we identified gaps in their marketing foundations and recommended that these be implemented on the new website to give them the best chance of organic exposure from the offset.

Initial phase 1 project activities included:

  • Google Business, Analytics, and Console set up

  • Rebranding – a new look and feel with a new colour palette and logo

  • Initial website redesign and development with imagery, copywriting, SEO research, and backend SEO

From initial enquiry to completion, the above activities took 3 months. This included all SEO research, copywriting, design, and development of logos, the website redesign, and the launch.

What happened next?

After the launch of their new website, we recommended that it be kept up to date with content regularly for increased visibility online. We always live by the philosophy that “build it and they’ll come” just isn’t enough anymore and we wanted to be honest about VOLT’s next steps after the launch of their new website.

VOLT agreed to initial marketing support to give their website the best chance of attracting their target audience moving forward.

Phase 2: Rolling out a campaign

VOLT agreed to a 3-month campaign to kickstart their marketing. Confident in our ability to generate results, we agreed and started phase 2 by identifying the gaps in their marketing.

This initial exercise enabled us to create a 3-month strategy that included laying some important, previously overlooked, marketing foundations. We explained that laying these foundations alongside an outreach campaign would best suit their goals and budget and would enable us to achieve optimum results in our agreed time.

Executing the marketing plan, we supported them with the creation of marketing assets, paired with a carefully crafted outreach campaign.

Phase 2 project activities included:

  • Creation of case studies

  • Creation of industry blogs (backed with SEO research)

  • Leaflet design for local awareness

  • Van branding

  • A LinkedIn campaign to help VOLT engage with their target audience

  • Ongoing monthly website maintenance support to ensure the website was kept up to date on the latest themes, plugins, and software

Our 3-month campaign with VOLT produced the below results:

  • Google My Business gave them instant visibility in the local area and allowed them to appear in SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) locally for the very first time.

  • Google Analytics was employed which provides insights into how their site is performing monthly. Analytics show that their website sees a constant flow of new traffic each month with around 70-80% of their monthly website visitors being new visitors.

  • The website generated 3 quality leads in its first 2 weeks of being live which came through the contact form directly.

  • Case studies helped to showcase expertise and industry knowledge.

  • Blogging ensured regular content was being created that aided SEO. This content was repurposed to increase exposure across different marketing touchpoints.

  • Social media activity focused specifically on LinkedIn. The creation of a business page on LinkedIn and organic posts paired with targeting outreach generated 24 leads over 3 months. All leads came from prospects in VOLT’s target areas.
